First Day

Rick, Jerry and I are leaving Salt Lake City today. Destination is Brigham City.  Our total route will be around 2000 miles over 5 weeks.  We will head up through Idaho and into Montana through Missoula and Glacier National Park.  We will cross the border into Canada at St Marys and then go through Peter Loughheed Park in Alberta before heading up the Icefields Parkway to Jasper.  Then it will be down through British Columbia to Whistler and across Horseshoe Bay to Victoria.  We will then spend a couple days in the San Juan islands before finishing up in Bellingham, WA.

The weather is, of course, setting records for high temps. I guess we will be simpatico with the TDF riders.

My gear weighed in at 48 lbs. I remembered two things that were forgotten: 1) chain lube and 2) bike lock.

I'll be looking for a bike shop and hardware store.

The Riv ready to head off on its second tour.  The first tour was a 5 day tour of Sonoma County back in May that was a prep for this one.
